ABOUT LIANA
Liana Hunt (pronounced Lee-ann-uh) is a New York City based actor, singer, and dancer. She is currently performing the role of Sandra in The Play That Goes Wrong at New World Stages. Get tickets here!
Originally from Vermont, Liana graduated early from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts to star as Sophie Sheridan on the National Tour of Mamma Mia! She then assumed the role in New York, making her Broadway debut at 23. Liana then went on to star as Katherine Plumber in Disney’s Newsies on Broadway at the Nederlander Theatre. Liana most recently originated the role of Lorraine Baines McFly in Back to the Future The Musical on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre.
Some of Liana’s favorite National Tour credits include Nessarose in Wicked and Margo in Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s Bright Star. Regional credits include the world premiere of The Devil Wears Prada The Musical at the Nederlander Theatre in Chicago, originating the role of Jessie Randolph in Clint Black’s new musical Looking for Christmas at The Old Globe, The St. Louis MUNY’s centennial production of Meet Me in St. Louis (Rose), and Noel Coward’s Private Lives at the Riverside Theatre (Sybil).
Liana has appeared on television playing the role of Betsey in Hallmark’s Ghosts of Christmas Always and on HBO’s The Undoing, and she played the role of Willa in the indie horror comedy feature film, STAG, which has had screenings at multiple film festivals including the Brooklyn Film Festival and the Soho International Film Festival.
Liana has studied Improv with UCB and is a part of the sketch comedy show SHIZ: Broadway Meets Sketch Comedy, which has had runs at UCB in Hell’s Kitchen and Improv Asylum.
